Prestwick Golf & Country Club
Featuring dogwood-lined fairways, 35-foot berms, deep pot bunkers and good sized rolling greens, Prestwick Country Club encompasses the traditional Scottish links style courses. Fashioned after the Prestwick Club in Scotland by Pete and PB Dye, this exciting layout, built on a natural dune field, has dramatic elevation changes, tree rimmed bunkers, lakes and streams along with a centipede grass rough that greedily engulfs any stray shots. Bunkers and mounds border on the spectacular. Pathways traverse in and out of the deep pot bunkers, some so deep that a ladder is built into the side of the hazard. A variety of winding streams and ponds bring water into play on 8 of the courses 18 holes. In keeping with the Scottish theme, the greens flags are much shorter than an American pin and the tees are not labeled as men's or women's.
Tifdwarf Bermuda Grass line the greens of this par 72 course. Prestwick plays 7086 yards from the Championship tees, has a course rating of 74.7 and is sloped at 138. Enjoy a touch of the highlands in the low country.
