Lockwood Links

Formerly a hunting preserve and bordered the Lockwood Folly River and the Intracoastal Waterway, Lockwood Folly Country Club boasts such a close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean that that golfers can actually hear the roar of the surf as they play. Though the drive from North Myrtle Beach requires a little under an hour (approximately 30 miles, including some back roads), the drive is worth the distance because of the course rewards.

Here, you will find elements to test your strengths as a golfer, yet plenty of evidence of the course’s Southern charm and character - gentility, tranquility, and activity. Expect to find narrow unyielding fairways, none parallel to the next. Expect to find water on 12 of the 18 holes. Expect to find views worthy of the course finalist award for “most picturesque” in 2002. Painstakingly maintained and member-owned, the course prides itself on serenity and course beauty, yet it is very much up to your test of skills. An extra amenity is the snack stand between the 9th and 10th holes.

Designed by Willard Byrd, this par-72, 6836-yard course uses Tifdwarf greens for a course rating of 73.9 and slope rating of 140.
