Eagle Nest Golf Club

Myrtle Beach Golf course video player.

Eagle Nest Golf Club's delicately rolling terrain and wide Bermuda fairways are edged by tall picturesque Carolina pines while the sparkling lakes & ponds have Willow trees that are gracefully bent over their banks and Cypress trees that look like they are wading through the water. This course has the reputation of having the "3 toughest finishing holes on the Grand Strand," each with their own nickname lovingly given by the locals. "Tough" is the par 4, 449 yard 16th that usually plays into the wind; "Almost As Tough" is the par 5, 616 yard 17th that has a 100 yard wide lake right in front of the green and "Lord Help Me Over The Water!" is their "signature" par 3, 185 yard 18th that plays uphill over a huge lake to a well-guarded elevated green.

This par 72 has new Mini Verde Bermuda Grass, measures 6901 yards from the Championship tees, sloped at 120, with a course rating of 69.9. Eagle Nest was named for the eagle whose enormous nest was interwoven in one of the towering trees on the course. Since these birds use their nests year after year, they can be anywhere from 5 to 8 feet in diameter. Unfortunately, the home for this resident bald eagle was abruptly taken away by Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Look for the sign by the 8th hole that marks the original tree where this nest was located. Even though the bird is gone there are still plenty of birdies to be found on this course!
